Through ongoing advocacy at the Iowa Capitol, IFDA works directly with lawmakers to protect the funeral director license and ensure legislation supports the scope, integrity, and future of the funeral service profession in Iowa.

Political Influence

IFDA and its lobbying team work to protect and advance Iowa’s funeral service profession at the state legislative level. IFDA educates legislators, builds relationships with elected officials, and advocates for policies that support funeral service. IFDA also aims to increase PAC participation and reach $25,000 per election cycle.

Educational Standards

Guide and provide the educational requirements for continuing education funeral director licensure, crematory operator, and removal technician certification.
