By becoming a member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association, you become an integral part of an association comprised of people like you, licensed funeral directors dedicated to serving Iowa communities and Iowa families.
Member
Firm
The membership automatically includes all owners and licensed funeral directors of the funeral establishment, including those working at any branches or other funeral establishments owned or acquired by the parent
establishment. They shall be entitled to all benefits or membership.
Associate Member
Any Iowa resident holding the Iowa funeral directors license who is not employed as a funeral director in a
funeral establishment may become an Associate Member of the Association. Associate memberss all receive all the benefits of membership but shall not be entitled to hold office.
Allied
Member
Any individual who is not a licensed employed by a business that provides merchandise, supplies relating to the business of IFDA members and the funeral service industry as a whole shall be eligible for Allied Membership in IFDA. Allied members shall not be entitled to vote or hold office.
Out of State Member
Nonresident membership may be held by an individual residing in and engaged ni practice in another state,
provided that the applicant for membership in this category is a member of the state association in the state of residence and does not own or is not employed by or is not affliated with a funeral establishment located in Iowa. The nonresident member shall not be entitled to vote or hold office but sall receive all other benefits of membership.
Retired
Member
A member who, is duly licensed and not affiliated with a funeral establishment may become a member of the Association. Such member shall not be entitled to hold office, but may vote and receive all other benefits of membership.
Honorary
Member
Persons who have been in good standing with the IFDA after reaching retirement or due illness, and no loger
receive continuing education hours, or employed by an Iowa licensed funeral establishment are eligible to become a member. Such members may not hold office but shall be entitled to vote and receive all other benefits of membership.
Intern
Member
Prospective Iowa licensees presently employed as funeral director intern of a member funeral establishment may
become a member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association for a period not to exceed the term of their intership.
Intern members may not vote or hold offce but shall be entitled to all benefits of membership.
Student
Member
Prospective Iowa licensees presently enrolled on a full-time basis in a mortuary science program or completing their intern hours with a member firm.
