IFDA COMMITTEES

The Past Presidents Committee provides valuable experience and leadership continuity to the association. The committee serves as a resource to current leadership, offering insight and guidance while undertaking special assignments suggested by the Executive Committee and/or Board of Governors. Its work may include special projects, initiatives, and fundraising efforts that fall outside the purview of other committees. 

The Executive Committee provides timely leadership and oversight on matters requiring attention between meetings of the Board of Governors. As prescribed in the bylaws, the committee is authorized to conduct necessary business on urgent matters, helping ensure the association can respond effectively and continue moving forward when action cannot reasonably wait until the next Board meeting.

The Education Committee supports the professional growth and development of association members by identifying educational needs, emerging trends, and relevant topics. The committee helps recommend programs, speakers, resources, and training opportunities that strengthen professional knowledge and skills. The committee also serves as a valuable connection to the membership, helping ensure educational offerings remain timely, relevant, engaging, and responsive to the changing needs of the profession.

The Legislative Committee plays a vital role in protecting and advancing the interests of an association and its members. The committee monitors legislative and regulatory issues, provides insight on how proposed changes may impact the profession, and helps guide the association’s advocacy priorities. It also serves as an important connection between members, policymakers, and association leadership, ensuring the profession has a strong, informed, and unified voice on issues that matter.

The Membership Committee plays an important role in strengthening the association by supporting member recruitment, engagement, and retention. The committee provides insight into member needs, identifies opportunities to enhance the membership experience, and helps communicate the value and benefits of belonging to the association. It also serves as a connection to current and prospective members, helping build a strong, engaged, and connected professional community.
