Advocacy
IFDA is committed to advocating for the funeral service profession at both the state and national levels. Through ongoing legislative efforts, relationship-building, and grassroots outreach, IFDA works to ensure the interests and concerns of Iowa funeral professionals are represented when laws, regulations, and policies affecting the profession are considered.
IFDA lobbyist, Mike Triplett, works directly with IFDA as the liaison at the Iowa State Capitol. He works alongside IFDA leadership to monitor legislation, communicate with lawmakers, address issues affecting funeral service, and advocate for policies that support the profession and the families it serves.
Through these efforts, IFDA works to protect the interests of funeral professionals, promote positive legislative changes, and ensure the voice of Iowa funeral service is represented in the legislative process.
Members can further support IFDA’s advocacy efforts in several ways, including serving on the Legislative Committee, responding to IFDA legislative alerts when member input is requested, and contributing to the IFDA Political Action Committee (PAC), which supports candidates who understand and are supportive of issues important to funeral service.
IFDA leads the advocacy effort. Member participation and support help strengthen IFDA's ability to effectively represent funeral service at the State Capitol and beyond.
